Privacy policy

Version of October 7, 2026

In short: SyncSpire Audio collects no personal information about you. There is no SyncSpire account, no advertising and no tracking. The app works on your device and talks to your speakers over your home network. If you choose to connect your Sonos account, our server keeps an encrypted access key, as described below.

SyncSpire Ventures Inc., a Canadian company, publishes SyncSpire Audio and this website and is responsible for this policy.

What stays on your device

To show your rooms quickly and remember your choices, the app keeps on your device:

  • the names and network addresses of your speakers, and the last room you used;
  • your settings, such as room scenes, sound presets, quiet hours, schedules and saved links.

We never receive this information. Deleting the app deletes it.

iCloud

If iCloud is turned on for SyncSpire Audio, your settings sync between your own devices through your private iCloud account. Apple stores that data under its own privacy policy. We can't read it.

Your speakers and local network

The app asks for permission to use your local network so it can find and control your speakers. Commands go straight from your device to your speakers. Your speakers and their music services work under the Sonos privacy policy and the policies of each service you've added.

Connecting your Sonos account (optional)

Some music, such as Spotify and Amazon Music favorites, can only be started through Sonos's own service. Connecting your Sonos account also lets you control your speakers away from home. If you connect it:

  • you sign in on Sonos's page; we never see your Sonos password;
  • our server stores the access key Sonos gives us (encrypted), your Sonos household ID, and a random identifier created by the app. It doesn't store your name, your email or what you play;
  • the random identifier is kept in your iCloud Keychain so your own devices share the connection;
  • commands you send pass through our server to Sonos and aren't kept. We keep only technical error counts;
  • the server runs on Microsoft Azure in Canada.

Disconnect in the app's settings deletes the key, the household ID and the identifier from our server right away.

Apple Music

If you allow it, the app uses Apple's MusicKit to search Apple Music and your music library so you can play results on your speakers. Those requests go directly to Apple. You can turn this off at any time in your device's Settings.

Internet radio and artwork

When you search for a radio station, your search words are sent to the public Radio Browser directory to find stations. Stations stream from their broadcasters to your speakers. Album art is loaded from your speakers or from the service that provides the music.

Purchases

The free trial and the purchase go through the App Store. Apple handles payment and gives us sales totals that don't identify you.

Crash reports

If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may share anonymous crash reports and usage totals with us. We use them only to fix problems.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts. Our hosting provider, Microsoft Azure, keeps standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, to run and protect the service.

Children

SyncSpire Audio is a general-audience app. Because it collects no personal information, it collects none from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here with its date. If the app ever starts collecting information, we'll ask for your consent first.
